Obama goes to Europe: Gives away your money!

By poetryman69

The main thing I got out of Obama’s speech is that as president, he pledges to take money from US tax payers and give the money to other countries

The Germans used to be a proud people. Just look at them now.

  2. Al in Pines, FL Says:

He asshole, that idiot Bush has been giving away American money for the past six years with his fake war on Iraq to avenge Saddam insulting his daddy. You are just an ignorant racist who isn’t voting for Obama or any black man anyway. And don’t tell me you’d vote for Colin Powell because that’s BS.

  3. RockoftheWesties Says:

While our bridges and schools crumble at home, look at how much the Bush administration has sent to the middle east. The private contractors will certainly miss the Bushies! In a recent speech, Obama referenced the need to make domestic needs a priority.

  4. Elaine Mays Says:

Give our money away? Just the opposite. He’s trying to get Europe in our corner to help out in the ME. Instead of the go it alone policy of the last 7 and 1/2 years that said butt out to European nations, wanting all of the spoils of war to go to American contractors, Obama is wanting to get help with the so called “war on terror”. No, he is not giving our money away, he’s trying to save American taxpayers who have been dealt a huge blow with trillions of dollars in war debt by the bush administration. It is ignorance like this that will bring our country down.

Sun Tzu said in “The Art of War” -> II. Waging War:

    “… …

When you engage in actual fighting, if victory is long in coming, then men’s weapons will grow dull and their ardor will be damped. If you lay siege to a town, you will exhaust your strength.

Again, if the campaign is protracted, the resources of the State will not be equal to the strain.

Now, when your weapons are dulled, your ardor damped, your strength exhausted and your treasure spent, other chieftains will spring up to take advantage of your extremity. Then no man, however wise, will be able to avert the consequences that must ensue.

Thus, though we have heard of stupid haste in war, cleverness has never been seen associated with long delays.

There is no instance of a country having benefited from prolonged warfare.

    … …”

  6. Tom from Vienna Says:

Senator Obama said that less U.S. troops in the Middle East will cost the U.S. taxpayers less and mean tax savings for the middle class.

If it costs the U.S. taxpayers money to send troops there, why would the Germans agree to send troops to the Middle East to replace ours? Do they expect us to pay for their troops? Or will the German taxpayers pay for it?

So, encouraging the Germans to send in more troops so that we can have less there must mean that Obama takes the Germans for fools. Or does he just take us for fools?

Since the opposition party won in the last Pakistan elections, the violence in Afganistan has increased. Pakistan is the key here. Either they reign in their Taliban extremists or this will go on forever.
